My lunchbox solution is inspired by the aesthetic simplicity and structural simplicity of origami folding and paper material.
The design is an octagonal structure with corrugated cardboard pattern and triangular cut-outs. The symmetrically structured side and base reiterates form and unity throughout the composition. The top asymmetrical scalene triangle design contrasts with an additional cut-out to allow further inspection of the lunch apart from the inward-folded corner peepholes of the lunchbox.
The lunchbox is a single folding template designed with a radial starburst opening to minimize material and utilize space, allowing the box to alternatively function as a plate surface that facilitates communal sharing. This idea was influenced by the process of the user’s package opening experience, as well as the functional versatility of simplified product design.
